Objectives:

  1. to coordinate ecofarming activities in Africa
  2. to ensure the effective implementation of Ecofarming practices.
  3. to facilitate exchange of information and achievements in Ecofarming research and extension at national and international level.
  4. to solicit internal and external resources for Ecofarming development in Africa.
  5. to promote small scale projects on Ecofarming at grass root level.
  6. to publish a quarterly news letter under the title NECOFA NEWSLETTER
  7. to train farmers, extension agents, NGO staff, policy makers, teachers and researchers on the concept of Ecofarming
  8. to commit members to implement Ecofarming program at grass root level.

 

NECOFA has adopted the following structure to implement its activities:

 

The international coordination unit

This unit serves as international secretariat and co-ordinates all NECOFA activities. The Network is headed by the International/General Co-ordintor in Germany

 

Advisers and country co-ordination units

The international co-ordinator is assisted by two advisers and 7 country co-ordination units.

These units are run by elected country representatives. Each unit co-ordinates activities at national level.

 

NECOFA Committee:

The international co-ordinator with his two advisers, and the country representatives form the NECOFA committee.

This committee shall meet when the international co-ordinators deems it necessary or as need may arise on issues concerning the network's aims.

 

Officers

Mr. Sahle Tesfai (ICNSD - International Centre North-South Dialogue),Germany has been assigned the task of International/General Co-ordinator. He will deal with the administrative procedures in co-operation with the national representatives and and co-ordinates the international activities.
