Round Table Session “Export Promotion Project” ARTEBIO & the Network for Ecofarming in Africa (NECOFA) for Cooperation and Sustainable Partnership

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The international body of NECOFA visited artebio, a potential partner for the NECOFA-Expo project on the 12th of October.06 in Lüneburg in northern Germany.

 

Based on the passed resolution at the International NECOFA/InWEnt Workshop in Kumasi /Ghana NECOFA, which states that NECOFA should pave the way to the marketing of organic products in order to support the farmers to enter into the world market, the International Coordination Office is working hard to implement the Workshop’s resolution.

Accordingly a concrete step has been taken to contact potential customer in Germany.

 

Our recent contact, we better call it our special contact meeting, has been conducted with artebio in Lüneburg, The artebio –Team and NECOFA-Team after introducing each other, presented and discussed their activities comprehensively with openness.

During our contact meeting held in an organic beer brewery in Lüneburg we experienced how and why the artebio was established and especially the personal activities, ideals and principle behind Mrs. Thöring and her staff of the company in general.

artebio is a company with a high level of ideology relating organic principles.

Mrs. Thöring, the chief of artebio emphasized that, this includes not only the products but also the way of making business and the whole living.

 

Mr. Dr. Tesfai, International Coordinator of the Network introduced and presented NECOFA, its objectives, activities and projects in general. He furthermore pointed out that the need for the successful implementation of the export promotion project based on the Kumasi/Ghana declaration should be by any means implemented.

 

The meeting of artebio and NECOFA focused on the following important of set topics:

• How to develop a concrete and stable cooperation between NECOFA and artebio
• How to develop a sustainable partnership between the two organisations
• Explore and study the infrastructure facilities in Africa, the production, harvesting, processing and storing systems
• Guarantee the quality standards of the products, certification of the products, packaging conditions, labelling, controlling systems and marketing process
• Create a sort of mechanism that guarantee to monitor the trading activities in the whole process on the African side.
• Both organisations agreed in principle to support the NECOFA Kumasi/Ghana declaration “export promotion project “ and the potential of successful marketing of a specific product
• Agreed, that artebio will be handed market oriented samples of products of NECOFA, which are in performance with the European market rules, and try to find out potential customer in Germany.
• NECOFA guaranties customer protection for ARTEBIO and artebio guaranties producer protection for NECOFA. That means that no one uses contacts from the other partner for marketing purpose.
• Agreed that NECOFA is responsible for the controlling of the whole production process, the quality status and the import of the products of its members to Germany
• Both Organisations are committed to a mutual cooperation and creation of a sustainable partnership in order to promote the Eco-Farming and ensure the self-reliance of the small Farmers in Africa

 

Finally we are pleased to find a strong and willing partner with artebio to support the African countries with its work and enhance the NECOFA export promotion project. We would like to thank artebio deeply for its readiness and high determination in supporting the NECOFA Project
