Preparation for a Volunteer- Engineer

The idea of sending a volunteer for three months have been highly welcomed and supported by Wilgespruit Fellowship Centre, Community Based Organisation and the Department of Agriculture.

 

The volunteer will start in Gauteng Province for six weeks based at Wilgespruit Fellowship Centre. The volunteer will work at the centre which has organic farming. He will also visit Kopanang Ma-Africa Development Association to assist them in the process of planing their organic farm in Protea Glen He will also have the chance to work with engineers and technicians from the department of Agriculture and visit NGO:s (Environmental justice Net working Froum, Food Garden foundation and tree for New South Africa.

 

From Gautngen the volunteer will be based in the western region of the northern province at Bohelo Ke Semphekgo Association for three weeks. He will work with the member of the association of the farm. The farm consist of the poultry, vegetables and crop production.

The volunteer will spend the last three weeks in the far north region working with the member of St. Scholastic Mission Projects. There is a organic farming demonstration plot and the volunteer will work with the field workers to visit the communal farms helping them to farm on a slop.
